PROJECT DESCRIPTION
As required by Law, PHRC was mandated to carry out a EIA for the RFCCU. Hence, Awa Engineering was contracted by PHRC to carry out the EIA study for the proposed project. EIA is a study that is carried to identify and evaluate the impacts of a proposed project on the immediate environment prior to execution and recommend measures to mitigate the associated negative impact and enhance the positive impacts thereby ensuring sustainable development. The EIA study was supervised by the FMEnv and DPR. The study was carried out for both wet and dry season respectively, in line with the approved TOR/SoW by both regulators. The study focused on the biophysical, socio-economic and health aspect of the project environment with regards to impact identification, evaluation and characterization.
